Central Indiana congregations unite for largest Unitarian Universalist presence ever at Indy Pride!
Free Range UUs joined an unprecedented collaborative effort to mobilize Unitarian Universalists in central Indiana to reach out to the LGBTQ community at Circle City INPride this year! Seven local congregations joined in a planning effort months in advance of the pride festival. We ended up with over 130 Unitarian Universalists marching in the parade contingent. We also had a cheering contingent along the parade route and staffed a join booth in the park during the festival. Outreach efforts included distributing Mardi Gras style beads with Unitarian Universalist messages on them and a link to a website featuring contact information and a map of all local UU congregations. At the booth, we also distributed flyers encouraging people to check out a local congregation tomorrow which included worship topics for the Sunday service as well as locations of area churches. It was an amazing day. Much good work happens when we come together! Check out some photos in the album on the Central Indiana UU Facebook page!
